Fatigue & Immune

The Immune system is in charge of the body’s defensive response to infection or the introduction of harmful elements (chemicals, food) into the body. When your immune system becomes imbalanced due to infection, stress or eating the wrong foods the body reacts with multiple symptoms and becomes susceptible to various health conditions including:

  1. Inflammation
  2. Pain
  3. Headaches
  4. Colds, Influenza
  5. Chronic Infection (e.g. Lyme Disease, Ross River Fever, Dengue Fever)
  6. Allergies
  7. Autoimmune Disease, SLE, Rheumatoid Arthritis
  8. Food Intolerances
  9. Chronic Fatigue
  10. Fibromyalgia
  11. Arthritis
  12. Sinus, sinusitis, Hay fever
  13. Bronchitis, Asthma
  14. Crohn’s Disease, Ulcerative Colitis

Therapies

Different types of Qi (energy) vary in how they are used by the body and when imbalanced or deficient lead to certain health presentations. For example, a person with a deficiency of Wei Qi may experience frequent colds and/or infections. Chinese Medicine identifies two forms of Qi for the Immune system, Ying Qi (Nutritive Qi) and Wei Qi (Defensive Qi).

Ying Qi (Nutritive Qi) Function – Nourishes the organs and helps to produce Blood. This is the aspect of Qi that is needled during acupuncture.

Wei Qi (Defensive Qi) Function – Helps to protect the body. Warms the surface of the body. Regulates body temperature by opening and/or closing the pores. People who catch colds easily/often have Wei Qi deficiency. Deficiency may also make it difficult to regulate body temperature.

Health Conditions Explained

How Acupuncture and Chinese Medicine works

Traditional Chinese Medicine therapies are directed towards moving Qi and blood relieving stagnation, the cause of pain, muscle tension and decreased function.

Pain and Injury

Injury, trauma, inflammation, muscular spasm, repetitive strain, stress and fatigue are the most common afflictions experienced by the body’s musculoskeletal system. This effects posture and range of movement.

Nervous System Health

The nervous system’s job, comprised of the brain and peripheral nervous system, is to respond to our external and internal environment, ensuring constant harmony between all our organs.

Fertility, Female and Male Health

The major role of the male and female reproductive system is to produce life. It is affected by many lifestyle and metabolic processes like stress, inadequate nutrition and environmental pollutants.

Digestive Disorders

Symptoms of digestive dysfunction start as burping, abdominal bloating and constipation and can accelerate to reflux, indigestion, loose stools, Irritable Bowel and Inflammatory Bowel Disease.

Cosmetic Acupuncture

Facial cosmetic acupuncture known as Facial Rejuvenation is gentle, safe and natural. The application can be used to assist the softening of facial lines and wrinkles, lift sagging, increase firmness and boost blood circulation.

Fatigue and Immune

The Immune system is in charge of the body’s defensive response to infection or the introduction of harmful elements (chemicals, food) into the body.
