Acupuncture has been used for thousands of years, supportive of a wide range of conditions. Unfortunately, in Australia, registered practitioners are not permitted to state directly what Acupuncture treats. The World Health Organisation (WHO) recognises Acupuncture and has published a list of conditions where, in controlled clinical trials, Acupuncture has been shown to be supportive of symptom relief. I wish to share this list with you so that you can understand the breadth of what Acupuncture may offer.

It is quite extensive — but you have a right to know.

You can find a fully referenced summary of Acupuncture research at evidencebasedacupuncture.org.

Important note. The conditions listed above are drawn from the World Health Organisation's published findings on conditions where Acupuncture has been studied in controlled clinical trials. Inclusion on this list does not constitute a treatment claim by Pottsville Acupuncture, nor does it mean Acupuncture will be effective for every individual with these conditions. Acupuncture supports the body's own capacity to heal alongside conventional medical care — it doesn't replace it. Please consult your GP or treating doctor about any condition that concerns you, and seek their guidance about whether complementary care like Acupuncture may sit alongside your existing treatment plan.
